The spreading of inaccurate information that is not based on thorough research and study, both within Japan and overseas, may lead to misunderstandings of our culture and damage our reputation.

We therefore strictly prohibit the dissemination of inaccurate information on our premises, as well as any guiding activities that significantly distort our culture. If such behavior is observed, our staff may approach you. If you do not comply with their instructions, we may ask you to leave the premises.

We strongly recommend to anyone considering a visit or trip to the area that they consult reliable sources (such as the official Gion Kobu website which is maintained by the Gion community, or our museum’s official website) to avoid being misled by inaccurate information.
